As part of this month’s updates on some of the happenings in CIB, we cover three events that happened in Mumbai in November.

The Mumbai Chapter meeting held at the Siemens Ltd. Head-office; their honest discussions; and their attempts at being useful to the large body of businesspersons in the city are captured in this report.

The CIB India Working Group met on two different occasions, one ealier in November and then later that month. The earnest desire to consider the various rapidly changing factors affecting society the world over in general and business and industry in particular required close to 15 hours of deliberations spread over four days. We have attempted to carry some of the highlights of those discussions in this issue.

WHO WE ARE

Initiatives of Change for Business is an international fellowship for businesspersons — a comradeship of like-minded individuals who are committed to furthering ethical practices in their work and convincing an increasing number of their business colleagues that “one can be ethical in one’s business dealings and still be competitive”.  

WHAT WE DO

Initiatives of Change for Business (ICB) is a forum for its members to discuss the business environment, in its various aspects and help find solutions to the problems that they face or may face in maintaining high ethical standards in their dealings.

FOCUS AREA

Engage business people and decision makers in honest conversations and action on the issues associated with globalization and the human face of economics

Highlight the role that each individual can play in bringing positive changes in business and economic life, and sharing related experience;

Equip people with practical tools, grounded in a moral and ethical framework, for use in their places of work.
