Dear Readers,

Drawing from close to 50 years of experience in business, R. Gopalakrishnan, who recently retired as Director, Tata Sons Ltd., spoke to delegates from business and industry who had participated in the 6th Biennial CIB Conference that was held in January this year.

We are delighted to carry in this issue of CIB on Wings a brief extract of some of the things that this businessman and author of four books shared with delegates.

In addition, we provide a glimpse of the discussions that the CIB India Working Group had while reflecting on the activities that the Indian body of Caux Initiatives for Business should focus on in the next two
years.

WHO WE ARE

Initiatives of Change for Business is an international fellowship for businesspersons — a comradeship of like-minded individuals who are committed to furthering ethical practices in their work and convincing an increasing number of their business colleagues that “one can be ethical in one’s business dealings and still be competitive”.  

WHAT WE DO

Initiatives of Change for Business (ICB) is a forum for its members to discuss the business environment, in its various aspects and help find solutions to the problems that they face or may face in maintaining high ethical standards in their dealings.

FOCUS AREA

Engage business people and decision makers in honest conversations and action on the issues associated with globalization and the human face of economics

Highlight the role that each individual can play in bringing positive changes in business and economic life, and sharing related experience;

Equip people with practical tools, grounded in a moral and ethical framework, for use in their places of work.
